DEEPV

Coleman established the acronym DEEPV as a reminder of the qualities that have served him over the years of his business career. Coleman believes that these qualities are the essence of his success and hopes others will embrace DEEPV in their lives.

D

DETERMINATION

The race is not always to the swift…but to those who keep on running. When the desire to succeed is stronger than the option of failure. The dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.

E

EFFORT

Some people dream of worthy accomplishments, while others stay awake and do them. Effort is the best indicator of interest.

E

EDUCATION

Education is often misinterpreted as the receipt of a College Degree. Education can encompass many things and can come in any form. As a college education is important, the most valuable education is gained through life experiences.

The question to the individual is whether one tries, risks, fails and most importantly continues onward with the lessons from this process.

Simply put, the best education is from the “streets” which is trying and failing, and in reality, learning and setting one up for future success.

P

PERSEVERANCE

The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather is a lack of will. Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did.

V

VISION

A leader’s job is to look into the future, and to see the organization not as it is… but as it can become. Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others. Don’t play where the puck is, play where the puck is going.
